Tactical Framework

The GEO Playbook

Visibility doesn’t start with search anymore. It starts with synthesis.
This playbook reveals the exact methods to build AI-readable authority, optimize for LLM citation, and engineer trust at scale.

1. Define Your Entity Signature

  • Structure content around a single high-priority entity (person, product, concept).
  • Use schema: Organization, Person, Product, with sameAs links.
  • Ensure clarity in the first 100 words (avoid ambiguity, lead with entity claim).

2. Engineer AI-Friendly Structure

  • Use semantic triplets: Subject → Verb → Object (e.g., "X improves Y").
  • Add Markdown tables with headers (used verbatim by ChatGPT, Claude, etc.).
  • Use bullets, short answers, and key stats early in the content.

3. Build a Citation Loop

  • Crosslink all internal content by topic cluster and entity association.
  • Publish thought leadership externally that links back to entity hubs.
  • Create references in 3rd-party databases (Wikidata, Crunchbase, etc.).

4. Amplify with Digital PR

  • Prioritize unlinked mentions on authoritative domains over backlinks alone.
  • Include quotes in expert roundups, interviews, and press releases.
  • Ensure these citations repeat key entity phrases and roles.

5. GEO Hygiene Checklist

  • Robots.txt must not block AI crawlers (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT).
  • Pages must load fast and serve indexable HTML.
  • Use canonical URLs, sitemap.xml, and structured JSON-LD.
  • Always update timestamps and refresh stale sections quarterly.

6. Track AI Visibility

  • Use Google Search Console (AI Mode), Perplexity, and ChatGPT tracking tools.
  • Prompt LLMs with target queries and log which brands get cited.
  • Monitor for mentions, not clicks. Share-of-voice now matters more than traffic.
